Everything you need to create an account, connect your family, and get the daily check-in calls going. All you need is an iPhone and a phone number that can take a call.
SalusLink is invite-only right now. The app is free on the App Store, and creating an account asks for an access code. If nobody has given you one yet, write to help@salus-link.com and we will send it over.
Two minutes, and the one moment where Apple, not SalusLink, may ask you a question. Here is the honest version.
On the iPhone the app is going onto, tap this link: SalusLink on the App Store. Or open the App Store yourself and search for SalusLink; look for our blue linked rings icon.
The App Store may ask you to confirm with Face ID or your Apple Account password. That is Apple asking, not SalusLink, and it is the one step where people get stuck: if you are not sure of that password, have a family member nearby before you start. SalusLink is free, and no card is charged.
If you are creating the account (Paths A and B below), the first screen asks for the access code from your invite. If your family already set you up and read you a six character code (Path C), that code is the only one you need.
SalusLink is set up a little differently depending on who is doing the setting up. Pick the one that sounds like you.
You get the daily check-in calls and keep your own health record. Family is optional.
Follow these steps ↓A parent or relative gets the calls. You see their check-ins and get alerts.
Follow these steps ↓Someone already set SalusLink up for you and read you a short code. This is the easy one.
Follow these steps ↓Someone you love is already set up, and another family member runs it. Add yourself so you can see how they are doing too.
Follow these steps ↓You will make an account, tell us the number to call, and choose whether family can see how you are doing.
Follow Getting the app onto the iPhone above, then open SalusLink.
The first screen asks Which is you? Choose I am setting it up.
Enter the access code from your invite email, then your name, email, and a password. Then choose the language for your calls: English or Mandarin.
Under Who is this account for? choose I am setting this up for myself, then type your phone number. This is the number SalusLink calls every day, so give it a second look.
Under Who looks after you? there are two answers, and both are good ones:
Right after the account is made, SalusLink asks:
The two connections can wait: tap Skip for now and they live in Settings under Additional information whenever you want them.
Your first check-in call comes at the next call time, morning or evening. Call times, and everything else, can be changed any time in Settings.
You make your own account first, then add the person you look after and read them a six character code. Once they accept that code in the app, the calls come to their regular phone. Day to day they do not need the app at all: picking up the phone is the whole job.
Follow Getting the app onto the iPhone above, then open SalusLink.
On Which is you? choose I am setting it up. Enter the access code from your invite, then your own name, email, and a password. Under Who is this account for? choose I am looking after someone.
The Who are you looking after? screen asks for their name, their phone number (the one they actually answer), and the language they prefer on the phone. Tap Get their code.
Read them the six character code from step 3. They enter it in the SalusLink app on their own phone: tap I have a code, type it in, check their details, choose a password. That acceptance is their own yes to SalusLink, which is why it cannot be skipped, and the calls begin only after it. Path C below walks them through every screen. If apps are not their thing, sit with them, or be their hands on their phone: it takes a couple of minutes, once, and then the phone does the rest. Or email us at help@salus-link.com and we will happily arrange a call to set it up together.
SalusLink begins calling their number at check-in times. They pick up the phone and talk, that is the whole job. Their check-ins appear on your home screen, you get an alert when something needs a look, and they never need to open the app again unless they want to.
One more thing worth a minute: once they have entered their code, your home screen offers to add their medicines and doctor visits. Add them, and the check-in calls can ask about the medicines by name and follow up on how a visit went.
Someone in your family has already set SalusLink up for you. The code they read you is six letters and numbers, something like A1B2C3. Have it handy.
Follow Getting the app onto the iPhone above, then open SalusLink. Your six character family code is the only code you need; nobody will ask you for anything else.
It is the first choice on the first screen.
Enter the six letters and numbers your family gave you and tap Continue.
The app shows the name and phone number your family entered. Fix anything that is wrong, then choose a password. If you change the phone number, SalusLink calls the new number and reads you a short code to make sure it is really yours.
SalusLink then offers two optional connections: Apple Health (your steps, heart rate, and sleep join your health record) and Google Calendar (doctor appointments appear in SalusLink on their own). Connect them, or tap Skip for now. Both wait for you in Settings under Additional information.
SalusLink calls you at check-in times. You pick up and talk about how you are doing. No buttons to press, no forms to fill in.
Your parent or relative is already getting the calls, and someone else set it all up. You make your own account, ask to join, and the person you care for approves it themselves. Until they say yes, you see nothing about them.
Follow Getting the app onto the iPhone above, then open SalusLink.
On Which is you? choose I am setting it up. Enter the access code from your invite, then your own name, email, and a password. Under Who is this account for? choose I am looking after someone. The phone number you give is your own: it is how we reach you if something serious ever needs a person.
It is right on your home screen.
The person you care for has a six character code in their SalusLink app, under Settings, then My family. Ask them, or the family member who set them up, to read it to you.
Type the code and choose your relationship to them. That sends your request.
SalusLink asks them directly: a card on their screen, and the question comes up on their next check-in call too. The app tells you when they will next be asked. Once they approve, their check-ins appear on your home screen and you get an alert when something needs a look. Their record is theirs: joining always goes through their own yes.
A short, friendly call in the morning and one in the evening. A few minutes each: how you slept, how you are feeling, whether you have taken your medications. Just talk normally.
When a check-in raises a concern, the family members on the account get an alert right away, with the details of what was said.
Every check-in builds a health record: symptoms, medications, doctor visits. Once a month it becomes a summary you can hand to a doctor.
Call times, language, who is connected, what family can see: all of it lives in Settings and can be changed whenever you like.
