Privacy Policy

SalusLink ("we," "us") helps older adults age safely at home by checking in daily and keeping their chosen family members and caregivers informed. Doing that means handling sensitive health information, and we want to be plain about what we collect, why, and who sees it.

What we collect

• Account information: your name, email address, phone number, and role (older adult or caregiver).
• Check-in information: the answers you give during daily check-ins — sleep, mood, medications, activity, symptoms, and anything you choose to tell us in your own words.
• Phone check-in transcripts: when you turn on phone check-ins, what is said on those calls is written down so your answers can be understood, saved to your record, and shared with your linked caregivers. We do not keep a recording of your voice. The audio is used to work out the words and is not stored afterwards. We say this out loud on the first call you ever take from us, and by enabling phone check-ins you consent to the written transcript being kept.
• Health device data: if you connect Apple Health, we collect the measurements you authorize (such as steps, heart rate, and sleep).
• Medication and visit records: medications, doses, adherence logs, and doctor-visit details you or your caregivers enter.

How we use it

• To run your daily check-ins and understand how you're doing over time, compared to your own normal.
• To notice changes that may need attention and to alert your linked caregivers when something does.
• To coordinate your care circle — shared visit schedules, medication tracking, and daily updates.
• To operate, secure, and improve the service.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who sees it

• Your linked caregivers. The heart of SalusLink is keeping your chosen people informed. Caregivers you link to your account can see your check-ins, symptoms, medications, health measurements, visits, and the updates our system writes about you. You control who is linked and can unlink someone at any time.
• Service providers that make SalusLink work. We use a small number of vendors to process data on our behalf: Supabase (secure database and hosting), Anthropic (the AI that reads your check-ins and writes updates), Vapi and Twilio (placing the calls), Deepgram (turning what is said into text), Resend (email delivery), and Expo (app notifications). They process your information only to provide these services.
• Nobody else, except if the law requires it or if it's necessary to prevent serious harm to someone.

Google user data (Google Calendar)

If you choose to connect your Google Calendar, SalusLink accesses your calendar events through Google's Calendar API (the calendar.events scope). This section explains exactly what we do with that data, with whom it is shared, and the limits we hold ourselves to.

• What we access: the events on your calendar, only after you connect it, and you can disconnect at any time in Settings.
• How we use it: (1) events that are clearly doctor appointments are added to your visits list in SalusLink; (2) event times are used to schedule your check-in calls around your day; (3) event context may be mentioned to you, and only to you, during your own check-in call.
• With whom we share, transfer, or disclose it:
  • Your linked caregivers can see doctor appointments that were detected from your calendar, because those become part of your health record like any other visit. The titles and details of your other calendar events are never shown to caregivers or anyone else.
  • Service providers acting on our instructions: Supabase stores the synced data; Vapi and Anthropic process calendar-derived context solely to run your own check-in call. These providers may not use the data for any other purpose.
  • Nobody else. We do not sell Google user data, we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not transfer it to any other third party, except if the law requires it or it is necessary to prevent serious harm to someone.
• AI and machine learning: we do not use Google user data, raw, aggregated, or derived, to create, train, or improve any machine learning or artificial intelligence models, whether ours or anyone else's, including foundational or generalized models. Calendar data is processed only at the moment of use to provide the features described above.
• Human access: no person at SalusLink reads your Google user data, except with your explicit consent (for example, a support request), for security or abuse investigation, or where required by law.
• Deletion: disconnecting Google Calendar in Settings revokes our access at Google and deletes the synced busy-time data. Deleting your account deletes everything.

Storage, security, and retention

Your data is stored in access-controlled databases, encrypted in transit and at rest, with per-account access rules so each person can only see records they're entitled to. We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your data is permanently deleted.

Your choices and rights

• Phone check-ins, health-device sync, and reminders are all optional and can be turned off in Settings at any time.
• You can unlink a caregiver at any time.
• You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — email us at the address below. Depending on where you live (for example, California), you may have additional rights under state privacy law, and we honor those requests.

Children

SalusLink is not directed to children and is not intended for anyone under 18.

Changes

If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we'll update the date above and let you know in the app.
